Prescription or Over-the-Counter?: Remicin requires a prescription from a veterinarian.

Ingredients: Gentamicin sulfate, USP equivalent to 3 mg gentamicin base; betamethasone valerate, USP equivalent to 1 mg betamethasone, 10 mg clotrimazole, USP in a mineral oil-based system with a plasticized hydrocarbon gel.

Length of Treatment: Treatment should be administered for seven consecutive days or as directed by a veterinarian.

What is Remicin Used For?

Remicin ointment is used to treat acute and chronic outer ear infections (canine otitis externa) associated with yeast and/or bacteria susceptible to gentamicin.


Effectively reduces the discomfort, redness, swelling, discharge and odor associated with ear infections.

How it Works

The aminoglycoside antibiotic (gentamicin sulfate) actively fights a wide variety of bacteria. The adrenocorticoid (betamethasone) reduces inflammation and an antifungal agent (clotrimazole) fights fungal and yeast infections.


Do not use this product if your dog is pregnant. Has been known to cause hearing loss, usually temporary.
